How To Use CarWoo To Get The Lowest Price On A New Car

Strategies to find new car invoice prices & buy your car at the lowest cost

The most powerful way to buy a new car: Let dealers bid down the selling price of your new car
From the first day we started this site back in the 1990s we have said that the best way to get the lowest price on a new car is by doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing. The old school method of car buying involved visiting numerous dealers, without knowing anything about new car invoice prices. Hours were wasted in several dealerships trying to chip away the selling price down from the window sticker MSRP price.

We've stressed for years that this does not get you the lowest price on your new car. The best strategy we had came up with was to use the email attack method to email a dozen dealers and tell them whoever offers you the lowest price wins. Another excellent consumer advocate car buying advice site Fighting Chance uses a similar fax attack method to extract the same great deals. The most savviest visitors here on CarBuyingTips.com have reported the highest savings using our email attack methods. Thus we have established this is the best way to buy your new car at the lowest price.

Now in the last couple of years, a more powerful "reverse eBay auction" type of new car buying service with over 4500 car dealers in their network has proven to perform for you as good or better than our email attack. This strategy means no traveling to dealers and little or no work for you. At the same time you remain anonymous as several dealers compete for your business by bidding the selling price of the new car down, instead of haggling the price upward, as you would do by walking into a dealer to negotiate. This is like a reverse auction, because instead of haggling the selling price upward, dealers are very happily bidding your purchase price downward. We love this unique method that goes against the grain of the old school car buying methods that too many shoppers still use.

How it works: you remain anonymous while dealers bid down the selling price
It's so simple. It's basically 3 simple steps:

1) You go to CarWoo's web site and start the process by telling them which car you want and which options. You remain anonymous, so dealers cannot play any sales scams on you or trick you into a higher selling price. You are insulated and protected from dealer scams with this strategy.

2) CarWoo system automatically contacts the applicable dealers who begin to offer you their lowest price on your new car. There is no pressure or obligation on you and the dealers have no idea who you are. They just know they have a hot customer ready to buy now. All they know is "Customer X is waiting for my lowest offer", with no games being played. Next the CarWoo system shows you all your offers side by side as they come in from the dealers. See screen shots below to give you an idea of how this helps you. The system shows you the window sticker price, the dealer's offer, rebates, incentives, new car prices, how much your savings would be and how long you have to accept the offer. You will see real live offers within 24-48 hours.

3) You can also anonymously ask the dealer questions, or you can simply click on their "Accept This Offer" button to get the ball rolling on your deal. One of my favorite parts is you can make a counter offer as well.

Why in the world would car dealers bid the selling price down instead up haggling upward?

Tech savvy car dealers that keep up with technology and consumers know what sells a car. One powerful aspect about CarWoo that works in your favor is the fact that the dealers don't pay for the sales lead like they do on other car lead networks. The dealers also know you have paid a small fee for this service, so they know you are not just an aloof a tire kicker, you're a serious buyer, ready to purchase right now. This makes all the difference in the world to the internet sales managers at these car dealers. They waste thousands of dollars every month advertising on billboards that no one sees, but here they have you, a targeted new car buyer ready to buy right now. This motivates dealers to give you their best deal right now. If you ever question why you have to pay for this service, this is the reason, it gets you the most savings. Also, dealers may have secret incentives or bonus offers from the manufacturer that even we don't know about online, so you never what dealer is just one more sale away from some huge bonus and they're chomping at the bit to give you an unbelievable deal at the right time.

This screen shot below shows what you see when dealer offers come in through CarWoo:
In this example screen shot below, you can see there are 4 offers side by side, the green numbers are your savings and they show you which dealer has the best savings. The screen also shows you what the current best offer is. You can see the first dealer is willing to offer you a savings of $2,950, but take a look at the second dealer's offer. Their price is only $1,098 off the window sticker price. It Looks like dealer #1 is the winner for me. Looking at all these offers, you’ll quickly realize the selling prices are all over the map. You never know which dealer is going to give you the lowest price on your new car. This shows the power of shopping around from home, with a click of a mouse, because all you did was fill out one quote request and you have 4 offers here listed apples to apples for you to easily compare them all using the same measure. This is one of CarWoo's strongest benefits, because if you tried to evaluate different offers from dealers on your own without this apples to apples comparison system would have been hard to evaluate. Just try to sort out on your own different quotes from dealers presented in different ways, you’ll go crazy. If you deal with salespeople on your own without CarWoo, you could get quotes that leave out hidden costs, but the CarWoo quote system aligns all the price quotes to the same breakdown. If you don't like any of the dealer offers, you can select Make a Counter-Offer, which I would do with that second dealer, telling him to beat the last dealer's price. Click on the screen shot below to see it full size:

This screen shot below is what the dealer sees:
In this example below, the dealer can see the buyer has 6 offers from other dealers and what the current best offer is. The dealer can then lower their selling price until they are now the lowest price and win the sale. This can start a bidding frenzy among the dealers, just like you see on eBay where bidders shoot the selling price up. Only here the dealers are shooting the selling price down! Click on the screen shot below to see it full size:

This screen shot below is a sample purchase certificate
Once you accept one of the dealer offers and decide to buy the car, you can print out a CarWoo Official Claim Certificate similar to the certificate shown below. It shows in writing your low discounted selling price which the dealer has agreed to. Since your discounted new car price quote is in writing, you know the dealer can’t play games and try to bait and switch you or play pricing games with you. Your certificate clearly identifies your new car, the model, the trim and any rebates that are available to you. This is how all car deals should go in a perfect world. Your certificate also lists the contact information for the salesperson and you should only deal with that salesperson. Don’t show up at a dealer to cash in this deal with some other salesperson unless your sales contact specifically tells you to do so.

Should I get the $99 $89 CarWoo Plus Plan or the Free Basic Plan?
This question almost answers itself! On the internet we always look for the cheapest price, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I tell people to overcome the urge to always take the cheap way out. CarWoo's post sale results show that 90% of CarWoo's customers use the higher quality $99 Plus Plan (discounted to $89 for our users) which gets you quotes from 3 to 5 dealers and lets you start up to 3 deals (3 different makes/ models of cars). The free Basic plan gets you quotes from 2 dealers, which may not always provide enough competition to get you the lowest price and lets you start a single deal. What if those 2 dealers had the highest 2 prices out of 4 dealers? This is why you need quotes from more dealers, so get the Plus Plan. Dealers might work harder to lower the price when they know there are 4 other dealers competing for your coveted business.
